In a Malaysian seaside town, quiet and soft-spoken Penny reckons with grief after the death of her father pushes her mother into a silent space. Her yearning for affection leads her to a pair of brothers at school who are not what they seem. Penny is drawn into their chokehold, which no one can pull her out of, and she is left to choose between the boys or herself. This coming-of-age story explores grief and how far we are willing to go to escape it.
