Seasonal operations staff roles are now posted and open for candidates until February 11, 2026 at 11:59pm. Candidates selected to move forward to a 30-minute interview can expect to be offered options for virtual interviews the week of Feb 16th.

Box Office Lead
Under the supervision of the Operations Director and Box Office Coordinator, this position oversees the box office email inbox, on-site badge and ticket pickup, and manages audience flow upon arrival at AFS Cinema as part of the operations & production team. This role leads Box Office & Will Call operations during the festival and supports a clear, welcoming front-of-house experience.
Anticipated Start Date: April 15, 2026

Volunteer Lead
The Volunteer Lead oversees procedures, coordination, and on-site management of volunteers for the Austin Asian American Film Festival. This role leads volunteer operations for the annual festival and related events from May 1 to June 28. The position manages recruitment, training, scheduling, communication, volunteer database management, and on-site support. Under the supervision of the Operations Director, this role is a key part of the operations team and supports AAAFF’s mission through strong people leadership and clear systems.
Anticipated Start Date: April 1, 2026 (flexible)

Events Lead
The Event Lead is responsible for: organizing administrative, planning, overseeing and logistical management of all events for the Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF) on June 24-28, 2026. The Event Lead will work directly with the Operations Lead. The coordinator will utilize today’s technology to promote and further AAAFF’s mission.
Anticipated Start Date: Mid-April

Box Office Assistants
Box Office Assistants provide frontline customer service, on-site ticket credential pickup, and sales tasks for the Austin Asian American Film Festival. This role serves as the primary point of coordination for Will Call operations during the festival and supports a welcoming front-of-house experience. The position works closely with the Operations Team to ensure accurate ticket distribution and clear communication with attendees.
