Mom’s Gulab Jamun Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cup powder milk

1 1/2 cup pancake mix

1/2 pint whipping cream

Few spoons of evaporated milk if needed

FOR SYRUP

3 cups water

3 cups sugar

A pinch of saffron or yellow color

Few drops of rose water

Few seeds of cardamom

FRYING

Deep pan

2 cups of oil

METHOD: 

Mix the baking mix and powdered milk and whipping cream and mix well to make a dough -  if needed you can add a few spoons of whipping cream or evaporated milk to make a soft dough. 

Heat water and sugar together on a medium flame till sugar is completely dissolved add the rose water shafting yellow color and cardamom seeds keep it on slow flame. With the dough make small balls and keep to the side

Heat oil at medium flame and fry the balls a few at a time  - they will rise and become soft and fluffy. Fry them till golden brown once done, put it in sugar syrup which should be on a slow flame.

When all done, cook for a few minutes and remove the sugar syrup with the balls from the stove and let it cool down.

Serve and enjoy!
