Texas filmmakers!

Announcing HTXMade’s first creative workshop - Story Clinic: Narrative Vol. 1
Applications Due:  Monday, May 11 at 11:59p CT

This virtual workshop is for filmmakers with narrative feature, pilot, and short projects in advanced script to rough/fine cut stages. Filmmakers must have completed at least one short film.

Session Dates (11a-1p CT on Zoom):

  • Saturday, May 23

  • Saturday, May 30

  • Saturday, June 6

  • Time TBD: One in-person gathering

Projects must be set in greater Houston OR a key team member (producer, director, writer, or lead actor) must be a resident of greater Houston. Texas-based projects may also apply!

Lab Fee: Sliding scale of $200-$300 per project.
Folks with severe financial restraints may ask for further discounts, and we are open to a payment plan over time. Two team members may attend. Additional team members can join for suggested $100 each. Lab fees may be remitted as a tax deductible donation - ask us how!

Program covers:

  • The Art of the Critique: Learn community-centered, care-based methods for feedback, inspiration, and collaboration.

  • Project Script/Cut Review: Give and receive script and cut feedback, with practice in care-based methods.

  • Industry Speakers: Gain insights from writers, directors, and creators from narrative film/TV.

  • Selected Readings: Explore inspired approaches to writing, editing, and collaboration.

  • Peer to Peer Strategies: Learn resource sharing, skill sharing, horizontal mentorship, and more.
