The founders of Slipper Assembly met at the first Asian American Storytelling Summit, presented by Austin Asian American Film Festival in 2023. The sparks from that event became the impetus to create Slipper Assembly, a community of Asian creatives. Slipper Assembly is a continuation of that day’s conversations and the search for others who yearn for vulnerable, introspective, and exploratory energy.
This year, Slipper Assembly presents ✨Slipper Summit: A Day of Storytelling & Solidarity for Asian Creatives✨, an event to share our stories, build community, and make art together amongst fellow Asian creatives. Feeling the urgency of artistic resistance, the desire to challenge pressures to conform and compete, and the strength of community, Slipper Assembly will feature creative and thought-provoking workshops, discussions, and more. Here’s a snapshot of what to expect:
