About the Panelists
Monica Macer
is a television writer of Korean and African American descent who got her start as the staff writer on the Emmy Award-winning, first season of ABC’s “LOST.”
Her experience in television has spanned broadcast, cable, and streaming with writing and producing credits ranging from PRISON BREAK (FOX) to TEEN WOLF (MTV), NASHVILLE (ABC) to DECEPTION (NBC), THE BREAKS (VH1), the Emmy Nominated STATION ELEVEN (HBOMAX) and the Emmy winning animated series ARCANE (NETFLIX).
Macer also served as Showrunner and Executive Producer on several acclaimed series including OWN’s QUEEN SUGAR (for which she was tapped as one of Variety’s 10 Writers to Watch), Netflix’s Peabody Award nominated Latinx dramedy, GENTEFIED, and the fifth season of CBS’s MACGYVER. On the development front, Monica recently wrapped a multi-year, overall deal with MGM Studios and has sold and written numerous pilots to various outlets.
Currently, Monica is proud to be working with acclaimed series creator, showrunner and director Noah Hawley as an Executive Producer on his new F/X series Far Cry and as an Executive Producer/Co-Showrunner with him on Season Two of F/X’s hit series ALIEN: EARTH — both produced by 26 Keys.
Extracurricularly, Monica is a co-founder of Korean American Leaders in Hollywood (KALH), a NetKAL Fellow (Network for Korean American Leaders at USC) and a CAPE Writing Fellows Mentor.
Teresa Huang
(she/her) is a Taiwanese American writer/producer who was raised to be a doctor but born to be an artist. After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and launching a successful career in tech, followed by a thriving career as a professional actor, she added television writing and producing to her list of accomplishments. Known for her ability to blend complex, action-oriented narratives with deep character development, Teresa was a Supervising Producer for Netflix's live-action adaptation of the Peabody Award-winning series AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER and is currently a Co-Executive Producer on ALIEN: EARTH (FX) and FAR CRY (FX) under acclaimed series creator, showrunner, and director Noah Hawley. Her other television credits include MACGYVER (CBS), SEAL TEAM (CBS), and TOM SWIFT (The CW). She is a graduate of the CBS Writers Mentoring Program, the CAPE New Writers Fellowship, and was named a WGA TV Writer Access Project honoree.
Teresa mentors emerging writers through the Paramount Writers Mentoring Program and teaches television writing at the East West Players, the nation’s longest-running Asian American theater. She is a member of the Board of the Directors for Los Angeles-based theater-producing collective Artists at Play and Boston-based educational theater company Theatre Espresso. As an actor, Teresa has performed on regional stages throughout New England and acted in over 50 episodes of episodic television, including recurring roles on CRIMINAL MINDS and GREY’S ANATOMY. Her superpowers include power napping, parallel parking, and spending too much money at farmer's markets.
Ananya HEdge
is a screenwriter and standup comedian. She was raised in Northern Virginia and moved to LA to study Business Administration at USC where she learned the importance of having a billionaire father (or mother!) and ended up spending most of her time interning and doing standup. She served as the writers’ assistant on GINNY AND GEORGIA and GREY’S ANATOMY and is a 2024 CAPE New Writers Fellow. She became a 2025 Disney Writing Fellow and went on to staff on FX's ADULTS Season 2 and FAR CRY Season 1. She loves writing about the love stories we often overlook: siblings, friends, parental relationships, etc. Although, she’s not a monster. She still loves a juicy romance.
